Blue Demons Open C-USA Championships

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - After day one of the 2002 Conference USA Championships, the DePaul women's track and field team stand in eighth place. Montia Gardner was the top finisher for DePaul with an eighth-place showing in the hammer throw.
Gardner was the top finisher of three throwers for the Blue Demons as Susan Stoffel was 14th and Megan Greeley placed 17th. Gardner's throw of 46.68 meters (153'2") was her second-longest distance of the outdoor season. Stoffel was 14th with a length of 41.74 meters (136'11") while Greeley finished 17th at 39.51 meters (129'7").
In the women's 10,000-meter run, Marlene Key was 11th with her season-best time of 38:34.82. Tara Quinn of South Florida won with a meet record-time of 35:05.71.
