Track and Field Compete in Season Opener

CHCIAGO - The DePaul Men’s and Women’s track team competed at the Lewis University Season Opener on Saturday, December 6th, in Romeoville, Illinois. 11 Blue Demons competed at the meet.
“We used this meet to as a preseason practice. The returnees were able to get meet experience, while, the freshman got their first taste of NCAA Track and Field,” Assistant Coach Jenny Kenyon said.
Seniors Diana Runnels and Dee Moore lead the women’s team. Runnels captured first place honors in the 400 meter dash with a time of 58.82. Moore finished second in the 200 meter dash with a time of 26.79.
Seniors Larry Inanga and Siddiqu Muhammad lead the men’s team finishing first and second in the 400 meter dash. Inanga finished with a time of 48.29 while Muhammad crossed the line at 50.92.
Track and field will break from action until January when they compete at the University of Chicago Invitational January 10, 2004.
