Blue Demons Wrap Up NCAA Mideast Regional

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Megan Greeley just missed qualifying for the NCAA Championships with a sixth place finish in the javelin on Friday. In the two-day Mideast Regional at Ohio State, Greeley was the top finisher for DePaul as a total of six athletes competed.
Greeley's distance of 45.71 meters put her in sixth place with the top five advancing. Irina Kharun of Indiana won the event at 56.68 meters while Kent State's Julie Ward beat out Greeley with a throw of 45.76 meters.
Erin Moffett placed 10th in the 3000-meter steeplechase while Jarrod Jahnke was 18th in the hammer throw. Moffet ran the event in 10:42.68, and Jahnke tallied a distance of 54.71 meters. The top five in each event advanced to the NCAA Championships in Sacramento in two weeks.
Others competing for DePaul included Larry Inanga, Will Lazicki and Leah Rygh. Each failed to make it to Saturday's final in their respective events. Inanga placed 12th in the prelims with a time of 47.33 in the 400-meter dash. Rygh was 19th in the 1500-meter run at 4:39.00 and Lazicki was 25th in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:52.88. The top eight in each prelim advanced to Saturday's finals.
