CHICAGO - DePaul head coach Gordon Thomson announced today that Jenny Kenyon has been hired as the assistant coach for the men's and women's cross country/track and field programs. Kenyon comes to DePaul after earning her graduate degree from the University of Oregon. She competed in the heptathlon for the Ducks during her undergraduate career.
An outstanding student-athlete, Kenyon earned third team Verizon Academic All-American honors in 2002. She also capped her collegiate career with a Pac-10 Postgraduate Scholarship, a NCWSF Scholarship, the Centurion Award and a NCAA Academic All-Conference Award. The four-time Pac-10 scorer in the heptathlon is ranked fifth on Oregon's all-time list for that event. She was also named to the Dean's List four times and was the Oregon Scholar-Athlete of the Year on three occasions.
While earning her graduate degree in Educational Leadership at Oregon, Kenyon worked as a graduate assistant in the Student Services program. She handled the NCAA LifeSkills program for student-athletes. In addition to her duties at Oregon, Kenyon also was an assistant track and field coach at Willamette University.
