Women's Soccer Posts Second Straight C-USA Shutout

CHICAGO – For the second time in as many games, the DePaul women’s soccer team blanked a C-USA visitor at Wish Field. On Friday, it was a 4-0 win over
Kelly Lord started the scoring for DePaul when she gathered a ball at the top of the box and lofted it over TCU keeper Lindsay White. It looked as though the Horned Frog defense was going to clear a DePaul attack, but Lord turned the tide with her third goal of the season at 25:57.
The score remained that way into halftime with DePaul (
Julianne Sitch and Margo Sackmaster put the match away with two goals later in the second half. Erin Walter started the play that saw Sitch score her eighth goal of the season when she found Jennifer Dyer. Dyer dribbled down the right sideline and found Lea Hill in the middle who fed a streaking Sitch. Sitch took Hill’s pass in stride and beat White at 71:22.
With just under five minutes left, Sackmaster headed in a cross from Stephanie Foley after clearing the ball on the defensive end for the Blue Demons. Off a TCU corner kick, Sackmaster cleared the ball with a header. Sitch then found Foley on the right sideline who dribbled 30 yards, crossed it, and found Sackmaster for the header at 85:30. It was her first goal of the season.
Lindsey Deason turned in a solid performance in the shutout with four saves. In the second half, she made a pair of diving stops to keep the shutout in tact as TCU (
