DePaul women's soccer closed out their regular season home schedule with a 1-0 Senior Day victory over St. John's on Saturday, Oct. 31.
The Red Storm controlled both sides of the pitch in the first half, taking seven shots and holding the Blue Demons shotless. Goalkeeper Mason Hillery made three first-half saves to keep DePaul in the match.
In the second half, the Blue Demons came back strong with nine shot attempts — four on goal — from Haiser, Carolina Capizzi and Danielle Fjeldsted. Haiser scored in the 82nd minute with an assist from senior Shayna da Silva, marking their third goal and assist combination this season.
DePaul earned its second conference victory of the season and fifth consecutive Senior Day win with the result.
Scouting Creighton
Creighton will host DePaul in the regular season finale after a 1-0 loss at Seton Hall. The loss dropped the Bluejays to 3-4-2 in conference play as they look to clinch a seat in the BIG EAST Tournament.
Against the Pirates, Creighton dominated the first 45 minutes, leading 6-2 in shot attempts. Neither team could find the back of the net in the first half, but Seton Hall broke through in the 66th minute with the lone goal of the match.
Goalkeeper Morgan Paley executed two saves, bringing her tally up to 50 on the season. Paley has started 16 out of 17 games, allowing 17 goals.
Olivia Duray leads the Creighton roster offensively, scoring five of the team's 17 goals this season. Anna Bragg and Sarah Hyde sit close behind with three each, and six players divide the remainder of the Bluejays' goals. Creighton's 15 assists are split among nine players.
Series History
DePaul and Creighton have met 14 times since 2013, and DePaul leads the series 8-4-2. The Blue Demons have been stronger at home, holding a 5-1-1 home record. At Morrison Stadium, DePaul holds a 3-3-1 away record. The Blue Demons haven't won outright since 2021 and, in the last four matches, logged two losses and two ties. In the most recent matchup, they fell 2-1 at Wish Field on October 18, 2025. Sienna Gonzales struck first in the 31st minute, but DePaul couldn't stop the Bluejays from coming back and getting the game-winner in the second half.

If the Blue Demons secure a victory over Creighton, the team will move to a 6-6-6 overall record, the most wins since 2023 and the best overall program finish since 2019 — when DePaul closed its campaign with an 8-8-3 record.
Freshman forward Katelyn Haiser also has the chance to accomplish a rarely reached freshman feat. Haiser owns six goals this season, the most goals by a freshman since Franny Cerny notched six in 2015. Another goal to her tally would make her the first freshman since Alexa Ben in 2014 to score seven-plus goals in their first season at DePaul. That year, Ben scored nine goals to push the Blue Demons to a 17-1-4 overall record.DePaul Debrief
