Women's Track and Field in Sixth After Day One

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – With two events down, the DePaul women’s track and field team is in a three-way tie for sixth place.  Tammy Burris and Marlene Key notched the top finishes of the day for the Blue Demons in the hammer throw and 10,000-meter run, respectively.
Key finished sixth in the 10,000 meters with a time of 37:43.48.  Ruth Limo of Cincinnati won the event in a time of 36:38.86.  Carrie Moffett followed Key in 13th place and Emily Prettyman was 19th overall.
In the hammer throw, Burris led a trio of Blue Demons with a seventh-place finish.  She finished with a distance of 45.65 meters (149’9”).  USF’s Dayana Octavien set a new C-USA Championship record with a throw of 63.97 meters (209’10”).
The Blue Demons are tied for sixth through two events with five team points.  USF leads after the first day of action with 22 points while Cincinnati is second in the team standings with 21 points.
