Jahnke finished the afternoon with a distance of 56.90 meters (186’8”) to place 16th overall. Dan Taylor of
Inanga placed 18th overall in the 400-meter prelims with a time of 47.18. The top nine finishers qualified for Saturday’s final led by LSU’s Kelly Willie with a prelim-best time of 45.12. Inanga’s time was a season-best mark topping the season-opening time of 47.23 at the Raleigh Relays.
DePaul's fourth NCAA Regional qualifier, Leah Rygh, withdrew from the meet earlier this week. Rygh won the Conference USA Championship in the 1500 meters and qualified for the NCAA Regional on May 15.
"After talking with my coach, we both decided that immediate rest and recovery are in my best interest," said Rygh. "I have been training through a lot of fatigue for a couple of weeks and immediate rest is what my body needs."
