Erin Moffett Qualifies for NCAA Track and Field Championships

CHICAGO - The NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Track and Field Committee announced this week the participant’s for the 2004 NCAA Championships. DePaul's Erin Moffett will compete in the women’s 10,000 meters. A year ago, she finished 23rd at the NCAA meet in the same event.
The championships will be held June 9-12, at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin, Texas. The University of Texas at Austin serves as the host of the 2004 NCAA meet.
Moffett qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 10,000 meters with her time of 34:39.25 at the Mt. SAC Relays in April. That marked the only time during the outdoor season that she competed in the event.
A year ago in Sacramento Calif., Moffett ran the event in 35:37.56 to finish 23rd overall. Last weekend at the NCAA Mid-East Regional in Baton Rouge, La., Moffett placed 13th in the 3000-meter steeplechase.
The women’s 10,000-meter run takes place on Thursday, June 10. The event is scheduled to start at 9:25 p.m. in Austin, Texas.
