Three Destinations for Track & Field Weekend

CHICAGO – DePaul’s men’s and women’s track & field squads shake up their routine and split to three different meets this upcoming weekend. Representatives will be competing in the Penn Relays, the Drake Relays, and the Redbird Invitational.
One of the most storied meets, the Penn Relays, presents its 111th try from April 28-30. The meet takes place in
Jamie Holifield, Marlene Key, Anthony Becknek, and Donnie Warner will participate for DePaul. Holifield takes on the hammer throw in the morning, while Becknek, Warner, and Key plan to make it a late night on Thursday. Becknek will race in the 3000 meter steeplechase and Key and Warner in the 10,000 meter run.
In
Eleven Blue Demon competitors will be part of the 8,176 athletes representing 752 teams participating in the 96th running of the Drake Relays. Events begin at
Three DePaul relay teams, including the women’s 4x200m, women’s 4x400m, and men’s sprint medley team, will race. Kayla Burks and Gavin Kennedy will be the only individual participants, taking part in the high jump and 1500 meter run, respectively.
