CHICAGO - A trio of Blue Demon softball players, senior first baseman Saskia Roberson, sophomore pitcher Tracie Adix and freshman utility player Sandy Vojik were named to the All-Mideast Region second team as announced by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association on Thursday.
Roberson will finish her career as the league's all-time leader in home runs (49 and counting) and needs five RBI in tournament play to break the Conference USA career mark of 175, currently held by Houston's Kristen Glowacz. Roberson enters NCAA Tournament action batting .349 with 13 home runs and 37 RBI.
Adix led the Blue Demons and was second in C-USA with 22 wins. She begins NCAA Tournament play with a 1.90 ERA and 22-7 record.
Vojik earned first-team All-CUSA honors and All-Freshman recognition after putting together a solid rookie campaign. Vojik batted .283 with a pair of home runs and 10 RBI in 37 starts for the Blue Demons.
DePaul won its fourth consecutive C-USA Tournament last weekend in Tampa and plays NCAA Region No. 8 host Wisconsin at 5Â p.m. CTÂ on Friday.
