Sophomore pitcher signs with the Blue Demons after a season at Triton College
CHICAGO – DePaul softball has added pitcher/outfielder Leah Lowery, a Chicago native, head coach Liz Bouck-Jagielski announced Tuesday.
Â
Lowery arrives after leading Triton College's pitching staff to a 13-5 overall record in her freshman season, earning second-team all-region honors. She struck out 100 batters across 108.0 innings pitched, working regularly out of the outfield when she wasn't in the circle.
Â
At the plate, Lowery batted .327 with four home runs and 33 RBIs.
Â
"DePaul Softball was built on keeping the best local talent at home, and Leah is the latest example of that tradition," said Bouck-Jagielski. "She embodies everything Blue Grit represents. Choosing to compete for her hometown Chicago, Leah brings a relentless competitive spirit and a passion for helping DePaul pursue BIG EAST Championships.
Â
"A standout pitcher, Leah attacks every pitch with confidence and determination. Her ability to command both her riseball and screwball makes her a dynamic addition to our pitching staff and a perfect complement to fellow newcomers Jasmine and Caprice. In true Chicago fashion, she embraces challenges, thrives under pressure, and elevates her game when the stakes are highest."
Â
Lowery is a graduate of Fenwick High School, where she earned second-team all-state and all-conference honors as a junior in 2024.
