CHICAGO – DePaul track and field coach Gordon Thomson announced today that Erik Felt of Hartland, Wis., has signed a National Letter of Intent and will join the Blue Demons next season.
A three-sport standout at Arrowhead High School, Felt has competed in state finals in track, soccer and alpine skiing in the last year. As a junior, he was the Wisconsin state runner-up in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles and was also on the second-place 1,600-meter relay team. His 800-meter relay squad took fourth place at the state meet that saw Arrowhead claim the team title. Currently, Felt is Wisconsin’s top-ranked student-athlete in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles with a time of 39.91. The state meet set for June 3-4 in LaCrosse, Wis.
“We are very excited for Erik to join our growing track team,” said Thomson. “He has the capability to have an impact in the BIG EAST Conference as a freshman.”
DePaul begins BIG EAST Conference play next season. The Blue Demons are in the final season of their 10-year run as a member of Conference USA.
