Wells Leads Women's Track & Field

CHICAGO – In the final preparation before the Conference USA Outdoor Championships, a group of Blue Demons competed at the Butler Twilight this past Saturday in Indianapolis, Indiana. The events were held at the Michael A. Carroll Track & Field Stadium.
DaShara Wells took the top place for the DePaul squad, coming in fourth in the triple jump. This marked the first time this season Wells competed in the event, posting a distance of 10.54m (34’07.00”).
Nicole Roesner took on double duty for the day, sprinting her way to a 10th place finish in the 100 meter dash and taking the 13th spot in the 200 meter dash. Roesner completed the 100 meters in 14.34 and notched a personal best of 28.15 in the 200 meter.
In the 1500 meter run, Kelly Cunningham recorded a season best time of 5:10.45, putting her in 12th place for the event.
For the first time this season, Monica Kauffman competed in the 800 meter run, finishing in 13th place with a time of 2:32.96.
The Blue Demons will use this week to prepare for the Conference USA Championships on May 12-14. The meet will take place at the University of Houston in Houston, Texas.
