Blue Demons Post First BIG EAST Win

ROSEMONT, Ill. - Freshman Wilson Chandler scored 21 points and had 12 rebounds to lead DePaul to their first Big East victory, by defeating Notre Dame 73-67 on Saturday afternoon at the Allstate Arena.
Karron Clarke scored 14 points and Jabari Currie added 12 points for DePaul who was playing its first home game in BIG EAST Conference play.
The win moved the Blue Demons to 8-5 overall and 1-1 in BIG EAST play while the Fighting Irish fell to 9-4 and 0-2.
Falls finished with 26 points and Chris Quinn added 16 for Notre Dame.
DePaul came out firing and led by 17 at 23-6 with 11:34 to play in the first half but the Irish chipped away and Notre Dame tied the game at 53 on a three-point play from Chris Quinn with 10:54 left in the game but DePaul would never trail.
Sammy Mejia came back with a three-point play for DePaul, and
Falls made a lay-up to cut DePaul's lead to 58-57, but the Blue Demons pulled away with a reverse lay-up from Mejia and a jumper by Currie to make it 62-57 with 3:09 left in the game.
Mejia finished with 10 points for DePaul, all coming in the second half.
DePaul is back on the road this Thursday as it travels to
