Dimitre Gueorguiev Named Track and Field Assistant

CHICAGO- Dimitre Gueorguiev has joined the DePaul Athletic staff as an assistant track and field coach it was announced by DePaul head coach Pat Savage.
Gueorguiev will serve as the coach for high jump, long jump, and triple jump events while assisting with sprinters and hurdlers.
“We look forward to having Dimitre on our staff,” Savage said. “He brings a wealth of experience in many different areas. His knowledge of conditioning and plyometrics will be a huge benefit for our program.”
Gueorguiev, a former Bulgarian Olympic coach, possesses an extensive history of coaching experience at all levels of track and field competition. He has spent the last 15 years of his career in the Chicagoland area, serving as a coach at
Throughout his career, Gueorguiev has coached three NCAA Division III national qualifiers, one Division III runner-up, two NJCAA national champions, one Special Olympic World Champion, and one Bulgarian national champion. As a personal trainer for the Niles-West Runners Club from 1991-03, he worked with cycling world champions, world record holders, Division II national champions and U.S. Olympians.
