Softball Hosts Rutgers and Villanova this Weekend

CHICAGO – The DePaul softball team welcomes
The Blue Demons (20-15) enter the weekend 5-5 in conference play and are in seventh place in the standings.
DePaul is 9-7 during the month of April and 5-3 at Cacciatore Stadium. Sophomore infielder Marcy Wilus leads the Blue Demons offensively in April. She boasts a .421 batting average and eight of her 16 hits have been for extra bases. Along with Wilus, Amber Patton, Sandy Vojik and Jackie Tarulli-Fisher have also tallied 16 hits during the month of April.
Overall, Wilus leads the team in five of nine offense categories including RBI (22), on base percentage (.467) and slugging percentage (.653). Patton guides the offense with a .381 batting average and Wilus follows with .347 average.
Villanova has four players batting over .300 but has struggled this season and enters the weekend 13-28. Meghan Morese leads the Wildcats with a .367 batting average and has knocked in a team high 35 runs.
