Track and Field Wraps Up Weekend in Louisville

Jamie Holifield took ninth place out of 16 in the women’s discus as she registered a throw of 42.85m, eclipsing the qualifying standard of 38.50m. The performance marks the fourth time this season she has passed the qualifying standard in the discus.
On the track, Jamal Cornelious and Stephanie Williams posted qualifying times in the 100m dash. Cornelious took fifth place in the men’s race with a time of 10.88 and passed the standard of 11.10 seconds in his best performance this season. Williams finished fourth in the women’s race with a time of 12.30 to meet the standard on the nose.
In the women’s 4x100m relay, Williams joined Mary Hodges, Kyra Coffey, and Jessica Rodriguez to take second place with a time of 48.55.
Patrick Smith and Hodges matched third place finishes in the 200m dash. Smith registered a time of 22.38 in the men’s race while Hodges notched a mark of 26.29 in the women’s sprint.
The meet had no team scoring.
