Becknek Gives Season Best at Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA, Pa.- Junior Anthony Becknek placed seventh out of 16 competitors in the 3,000m steeplechase Thursday at the 112^th Penn Relays.  His time of 9:09.97 marked a season best performance and passed the BIG EAST qualifying standard of 9:34.24.

Becknek’s previous season best was the time of 9:23.2 that he set at the Mt. SAC Relays.

Michigan’s Andrew Bauer won the event with a time of 9:02.37.

Becknek was the only DePaul athlete to participate at the Relays.  The meet had no team scoring.
