The Blue Demons' fielding woes continued on Sunday as they committed six errors during the twinbill; four during the first game and two in the second. Offensively, DePaul received a boost from junior Kara Amundson and freshman Stephanie Blagaich. Amundson was credited with two RBI in game one and Blagaich went 2 for 3 in the second game.
The Bulls jumped out to and early 2-0 lead in game one, capitalizing on two Blue Demon errors and one hit in the first inning.
USF added an additional run in the third and fourth innings and took a 4-0 lead into the top of the seventh frame.
DePaul gave the Bulls a seventh inning scare as they strung together three hits and notched two runs with one out. Junior Linda Secka started the Blue Demon rally with a single up the middle and pinch hitter Cara Santori followed with a sharp single to the outfield. Amundson knocked in both runners on double to left field, but the Blue Demon rally would be snuffed out as the final two batters were retired by Cristi Ecks.
Blagaich (11-4) suffered the loss for the Blue Demons in game one. Blagaich threw the first four innings before being relieved by senior Leslie Scott. The duo scattered five hits and struck out a pair.
USF used their entire bullpen. Bree Spence started the game and threw 6.1 innings before Kasey Cash and Ecks entered the ballgame in the seventh. Spence (20-7) gave up five hits and the trio combined for eight strikeouts.

The Bulls broke a scoreless tie in the fifth inning of game two. USF tagged DePaul starter, Tracie Adix with three runs on four hits. USF catcher Laura Wolfe put the Bulls on the board with a two-run double to left center and scored on a single by the next batter, Kelsey Zorc.
USF opened the door for a Blue Demon comeback in the top of seventh by committing two errors. Sophomore Sandy Vojik led off the inning with an infield single and would score four batters later on a throwing error by Ecks with two outs. The DePaul threat would end as Ecks got the final Blue Demon batter to fly out to centerfield.
The Blue Demons will break from conference play to welcome No. 14 Northwestern to Cacciatore Stadium on Tuesday, May 2. The Blue Demons and Wildcats are scheduled to play a doubleheader with the first pitch listed at 3:00 p.m.
