Blue Demons Land Transfer Catcher Morgan Pool

Pool joins the Blue Demons after two seasons at Maine
CHICAGO – DePaul softball head coach Liz Bouck-Jagielski announced the addition of catcher Morgan Pool for the 2027 season. Pool joins the Blue Demons as a transfer from Maine.
"Morgan is truly unique, a switch hitter with power from both sides of the plate," Bouck-Jagielski said. "She has a meticulous understanding of the game and brings a wealth of experience. Her ability to work with pitchers, manage the defense and make strong, decisive decisions sets her apart."
Pool started 45 games at catcher for the Black Bears in 2026, posting career highs with 17 hits, 17 RBI, four doubles and 11 runs scored. She drew 25 walks, fourth-most in the America East, and hit one home run. Pool put together a 13-game on-base streak during the season.
As a freshman in 2025, Pool made 44 starts behind the plate in 45 appearances and threw out a nation-leading 25 runners. She ranked fifth in the America East with a .992 fielding percentage, committing just two errors in 242 chances, and tied for the conference lead with 28 walks. Pool finished her rookie campaign with 11 hits, 10 RBI and nine runs scored. She hit her first career home run and drove in four runs in a win at Merrimack on March 16.
Before Maine, Pool played travel ball for the Tennessee Mojo and Indiana Magic Gold. A Scottsburg, Ind., native, she earned All-Star, All-State and All-Conference honors at Scottsburg High School, served as team captain and led the team in home runs while helping the squad to sectional and conference championships. Pool's sister, Riley, played for the Blue Demons from 2021-24, appearing in 154 career games.
Pool is DePaul's fourth addition this offseason joining Caprice Barela (New Mexico), Allyssa Ramos (Iowa) and Jasmine Reyes (Indiana).
