Track and Field Enters Dr. Keeler Invitational

Thursday’s action kicks off at
Tammy Burris and Jamie Holifield follow immediately in the women’s hammer throw. The duo posted their first NCAA Regional qualifying marks of the season on Sunday, as Burris notched a 55.45m throw and Holifield recorded a 54.21m performance.
Thursday’s competition continues with Burris and Holifield in the women’s discus throw, followed my Hoag and Millar in the men’s discus throw. Holifield boasts DePaul’s top women’s mark this season at 44.20m, while Hoag carries a team-best 45.78m throw. Millar wraps up Thursday’s events for the Blue Demons at 3:30 p.m. in the men’s javelin throw.
Joe Strawder opens Friday’s action at 3 p.m. in the men’s long jump. The Blue Demon freshman has broken the NCAA Regional standard of 7.34m two times this season.
Field events conclude at 4 p.m. with Burris in the women’s shot put and Hoag in the men’s shot put. This season saw Burris post a DePaul record throw of 13.79m, while Hoag notched a personal-best mark of 15.66m at the BIG EAST Championships.
The Blue Demons close out Friday’s competition with the women’s 200m dash and the men’s 3,000m steeplechase. Stephanie Williams enters the 200m race with a DePaul record time of 24.36 and Anthony Becknek takes on the 3,000m steeplechase with a season-best mark of 9:11.84.
