DePaul Falls to Notre Dame

DePaul starter Becca Heteniak struck out two of her first three batter's in the first inning, but the second inning saw her give a lead-off walk to Notre Dame's Heather Johnson. Brittany Glynn entered the game to pinch run for Johnson and scored on Beth Northway's two-out single to right field.
Following a DePaul fielding error and two outs, Notre Dame added five runs in the top of the third on a two-RBI double by Linda Kohan and a three-run home run by Christine Lux.
The Irish (31-21) took a 7-0 lead in the fourth inning on Carissa Jaquish's home run to left field.
DePaul catcher Marie Thompson ended Notre Dame starter Brittany Bargar's perfect game with a two-out walk in the bottom of the sixth. Sandy Vojik followed with an infield single to end Bargar's no-hitter and Amber Patton was hit by a pitch on a 1-1 count to load the bases for the Blue Demons. Wilus delivered a two-RBI single up the middle to put DePaul on the board.
Notre Dame added its final run on Johnson's double to left center.
Bargar (22-12) earned the win. She struck out six and gave-up three hits.
Heteniak (18-6) took the loss for the Blue Demons. She struck out eight and scattered six hits. Only three of the Irish's eight runs were earned.
The Blue Demons (41-11) await the NCAA Tournament selection announcement on Sunday, May 13. ESPNews will air the selection show at 2 p.m. (CST)
