Blue Demons Advance to Regional Championship on Sunday

CARBONDALE, Ill. - Tracie Adix threw a complete game shutout as the No. 14 DePaul softball team defeated No. 19 Missouri, 2-0, Saturday at the NCAA Carbondale Regional at the Charlotte West Stadium. The Blue Demons (43-11) advance to the Regional Championship and play Missouri on Sunday at Noon. DePaul must win one game to capture the Regional Championship, while the Tigers will have to win two for the crown.
Locked in a pitcher's duel through two and a half innings, the Tigers (40-23) struck first with a two-out double by Sarah Stringer. With Stringer on second, DePaul third baseman Amber Patton made a tough defensive stop to end the inning and the

Adix threw her eighth complete game shutout to improve to 19-2 on the season. The senior struck out three and scattered four hits.
Bruck took the loss but all three of DePaul's runs were unearned.
The Blue Demons improve to 29-23 in their 12 NCAA Tournament appearances. Since the NCAA moved to the four-team double-elimination format in 2005, DePaul is 1-1 in Regional Championship games and advanced to the Super Regional in 2005.
