Osterman, Patton Invited to USA Softball Selection Camp

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - USA Softball and the Amateur Softball Association of America (ASA) on Thursday invited DePaul assistant coach Cat Osterman and former Blue Demon All-American Amber Patton to the 2010 USA Softball Women's National Team Selection Camp.
Osterman, Patton and 29 other athletes will attend the camp Jan. 4-8 at Chula Vista, Calif. The 17-member team plus alternates selected from the camp will represent USA Softball during the 2010 season.
Osterman was a standout pitcher on the 2008 Olympic team that won the silver medal in Beijing. She was the youngest player on the 2004 Olympic team that won the gold medal in Athens.
Patton was a two-time All-American, and in her senior year set school records with a .496 batting average and 89 hits. The third baseman from Forsyth, Illinois set a BIG EAST Conference single-season record with 41 hits.
DePaul standouts who attended National Team Selection Camps in the past include Sarah Martz in 2004, Lindsay Chouinard in 2003 and Missy Nowak in 1996.
