| Hey Blue Demon Fans! With summer winding down, the thought of starting my senior year is lingering in the back of my mind. I've been working hard all summer but I always get the jitters about starting up conditioning and lifting. I have a saying that kind of helps me get through the tough days though...."I know I'm going to be alive at the end of the sprints or long run, so I just need to keep running and it will eventually be over." Now, I know that makes our conditioning and lifting sound like torture and yes...on some days it is but it makes us mentally and physically stronger and I always feel like I've accomplished something when our workouts are over. But until the school year starts...like most college students, I have a summer job. After a long summer, I finish in a two weeks and then it's back to school and softball. However, before I go back to school, I am going to visit Indiana University. I have some friends that go to school there and every year before I head back to DePaul, I drive down there and stay with my friends for about a week. It's my favorite way to start off the school year and a nice ending to my summer with all my friends from home. One fun thing I did a few weeks ago was go to a Bandits game. My former Blue Demon teammate, Amber Patton, and our volunteer assistant coach, Sam Findlay both play for the Bandits. They were playing the Rockford Thunder, which is the team that our assistant coach Cat Osterman plays for! So it was fun to see all of them play against one another. Lynsey Ciezki came to the game with me, but used up my camera battery! So her brother took a picture of us with Cat it's kind of dark. Lynsey made up for using the camera batter and went to another Bandit/Thunder game this time with our teammates, Simone Ashkar and Sean Plese. She took some more picture that night and those are in the album as well. Thanks for reading and don't forget, I'll be writing about 2 blogs a month! So keep checking the website and I hope you enjoy! Annie |
