Qualifying Bracket

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - DePaul freshmen Kelsey Lawson and Christiana Raymond qualified for the Main Singles Draw of the ITA Midwest Regional on Friday at Michigan's Varsity Tennis Center.
Lawson and Raymond each reached the quarterfinals of the qualifying bracket to earn a spot in the tournament's main draw. With each player needing to win three matches to advance, Lawson and Raymond did just that and joined Selma Salkovic, Katarina Milinkovic and Gia McKnight in Saturday's singles action.
Lawson qualified for the main draw with a come-from-behind victory over Tiffany Dittmer from Ohio State. The freshman lost her first set 6-1, but not willing to call it day; Lawson battled and won the last two sets, 6-3, 6-4. Lawson is scheduled to play Angelina Jogasuria from Akron in the opening round of the main draw.
Raymond quickly disposed of IPFW's Ingrid Ballus in two sets (6-4, 6-3). Raymond, who was the No. 3 overall seed in the qualifying bracket, has yet to drop at set at the Regional. The Blue Demon freshman is scheduled to square off with Nicky Stracar of Wisconsin on Saturday.
With the qualifying bracket over, doubles action got underway in the afternoon.
Katarina Milinkovic and Lawson won their first round match against Alexandra Forsyth and Caterina Kiefer 8-6, but fell in their second round match to the No. 4 seeded team of Zara Harutyunyan and Jogasuria from Akron by the same score.
DePaul's No. 31 pair of Selma Salkovic and Gia McKnight received an opening round bye and topped Polina Guimaraes and Alexandra Cristello from Toledo, 8-3 in the second round.
Singles action resumes on Saturday with the Main Draw.
