Milinkovic Plays for D-Singles Championship on Sunday

EVANSTON, Ill. - Senior Katarina Milinkovic led the DePaul women's tennis team on the second day of the Wildcat Invitational at Northwestern's Vandy Christie Outdoor Courts. The tournament concludes on Sunday with a final round of singles action.
Playing in the D-singles flight, Milinkovic dominated her quarterfinals match as she took a 6-3, 6-3 win from South Carolina's Katarina Popova. In one of the most exciting matches of the day, Milinkovic battled with another South Carolina player -- Dijana Stojic for the right to advance to the Championship of the flight.
The Blue Demon senior found herself down 1-0 after dropping the first set 6-2 to Stojic. Milinkovic quickly regrouped and took the final two sets 6-3, 6-3 to advance to the championship of the D-flight. Milinkovic is scheduled to play her third South Carolina opponent in Anya Morgina on Sunday morning.
Also in the D-Flight, Gia McKnight split her matches with the junior edging Michigan State's Marina Bohrer 7-5, 7-6 (0).
In the B-flight, Christiana Raymond advanced to the semifinals with a win over Ilinca Critscu from UIC. The freshman plays Iowa's Alexis Dorr in the semifinals and could face Wisconsin's Jenny Hois in the flight's championship on Sunday.
Samantha Kaneta also notched a win in the A-doubles bracket. The freshman topped Elliana Kantar from Minnesota 6-2, 6-0.
The Blue Demons finished the day with five singles wins which runs the team's win-total to 14 after two days of competition.
