Women's Tennis Finishes Day One at WMU Super Challenge

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The DePaul women's tennis team finished the first day of the WMU Super Challenge with six wins on Friday at the West Hills Athletic Club. The Blue Demons tallied four doubles wins and a pair of singles victories.
Head coach Mark Ardizzone mixed up his doubles pairs as his team was facing some of best teams in the Midwest, just like at the ITA Midwest Regional.
Seniors Selma Salkovic and Katarina Milinkovic topped Wisconsin's Alaina Trgovic and Nicky Stracar 8-5 while Gia McKnight and Kelsey Lawson took an 8-5 victory from the Badger pair of Aleksandra Markovic and Jenny Hois.
In the second round of doubles, Milinkovic teamed-up with McKnight for dominating 8-2 win over Western Michigan's April Kerr and Jill Pastuniuk.
Like a senior, Salkovic worked with freshman Samantha Kaneta to take a hard-fought 9-7 win from Western Michigan's Rachel Denny and Miloslava Shustava.
Friday's action closed with a round of singles and the Blue Demons all facing players from Indiana.
Milinkovic won her third match of the day with an exciting 6-4, 7-5 win over Sophie Garre. Christiana Raymond rounded out the Blue Demons victories with a three-set win over Charlotte Martin.
Saturday sees the Blue Demons play one round of doubles and two rounds of singles, matches begin at 9:30 a.m.
