CHICAGO - After greeting students on campus Thursday afternoon with refreshments, DePaul basketball coaches Oliver Purnell and Doug Bruno headed over to FEST Friday evening to introduce headlining act Ludacris on the Lincoln Park campus' quad.
FEST is DePaul's annual year-end event put together by the DePaul Activities Board (DAB). DAB is a student-run organization that hosts events throughout the academic year. FEST is a full day event that takes place on DePaul's Lincoln Park campus every spring.
Following a performance by the band Guster, Coach Bruno took the microphone to introduce Purnell to nearly 4,000 students. It marked Purnell's first formal introduction to DePaul's student body since accepting the head coach position in April.
Purnell then introduced Ludacris before the three-time Grammy Award winning artist took the stage.
