CHICAGO - DePaul track and field and cross country head coach Dave Dopek announced that former Blue Demon Leah Bohr is joining the staff as an assistant coach. Bohr will primarily work with the cross country teams in the fall and the distance runners during the track and field seasons.
"We are very excited about Leah Bohr joining our staff as an assistant coach. Leah will bring a wealth of competitive knowledge and focus to our distance program," said Dopek. "Having been a successful student-athlete during her four years of competing at DePaul, Leah has extensive knowledge of what it takes to be successful on the track. Her unyielding approach to athletic competition is going to be a great source of leadership for all members of the cross country and track and field teams."
Bohr was a student-athlete at DePaul from 2000-2004. She earned Academic All-American and Conference USA All-Conference honors in 2004. During the 2004 season Bohr was the C-USA Champion in the indoor mile and in the outdoor 1500m. Bohr currently holds DePaul school records in the indoor mile with a time of 4:46 and in the outdoor 1500m with a time of 4:27.
After her successful collegiate career, Bohr was a teacher for four years and then worked as a graduate assistant in the athletics department in 2009.
