#34 DePaul Defeats Navy, Wins Fourth Straight

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The No. 34 DePaul women's tennis team won its fourth straight and second of the day when it topped Navy, 6-1 at the Tose Family Tennis Center at the Brigade Sports Complex on Saturday. Earlier in the day, the Blue Demons topped Drexel, 6-1.
Led by their upperclassman -- seniors Katarina Milinkovic and Selma Salkovic and juniors Gia McKnight and Cali Gustafson the quartet helped the Blue Demons (6-3) sweep the doubles point which set the tone for the dual. Milinkovic, McKnight and Gustafson then went on to take their singles matches in straight sets.
The upperclassman trio finished one after-the-other to clinch DePaul's fifth win of the season. Gustafson was the first off the court in the fifth position when she overtook Erin Snook 6-1, 6-1.
McKnight followed with a 6-3, 6-0 victory over Emani Decquir in the second position and Milinkovic clinched the dual with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Amanda Griffin in the top spot.
With the win in hand, Kelsey Lawson and Christiana Raymond also tallied victories for the Blue Demons.
During DePaul's three-match road trip this weekend, the Blue Demons topped BIG EAST foe Georgetown on Friday before registering wins over Drexel and Navy today. Over the weekend DePaul tallied a total of 21 wins. The Blue Demons did not drop a doubles match while they tallied 15 singles wins.
The Blue Demons return to action on Feb. 19 when they travel to No. 44 Indiana returning to the Lakeshore Athletic Club on Feb. 20 for a dual with No. 45 Iowa.
