Women's Tennis Stumbles at Indiana

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The No. 34 DePaul women's tennis suffered a 7-0 loss at No. 47 Indiana on Saturday at the Indiana University Tennis Center. The loss snaps DePaul's four-match winning streak, while the Blue Demons fall to 6-4 and Indiana improves to 8-2 on the season.
The Blue Demons got off to a quick start when the No. 55 pair of Gia McKnight and Katarina Milinkovic overtook Kayla Fujimoto and Evgeniya Vertesheva, 8-3 in the top doubles dual. The win was the fourth straight for the pair as the duo improved to 7-2 this season.
Unfortunately, McKnight and Milinkovic's victory did not carry over as the Blue Demons fell on the other two doubles courts and Indiana jumped out to an early 1-0 advantage.
The Hoosiers sustained their momentum into singles and won on all six courts to seal the victory.
The Blue Demons look to get back on track on Sunday when they host No. 48 Iowa at the Lakeshore Athletic Club. The first serve is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the corner of Lakewood and Fullerton.
