CHICAGO - The No. 52 DePaul women's tennis team stayed perfect on their home courts with a 6-1 win over Butler on Saturday at the Lakeshore Athletic Club. The dual with Butler was the first of the day for the Blue Demons who host Dayton at 6 p.m.
The Blue Demons (9-6) swept doubles action and took an early 1-0 lead heading into singles play. DePaul's No. 65 pair of Katarina Milinkovic and Gia McKnight dominated the Butler pair of Stephanie McLoughlin and Gabrielle Rubenstein for an impressive 8-1 victory.
Cali Gustafson and Christiana Raymond picked up their eighth win of the season with an 8-3 victory over Natali Jaimes and Caroline Hedrick.
Kelsey Lawson and Selma Salkovic recorded an 8-5 win over Brittany Farmer and Gabriella Bobrowski to complete the doubles sweep.
The Blue Demons domination play carried over into singles action. DePaul recorded straight-set wins on all but one court, while Butler's lone point came in a three-set battle on the fifth court.
Raymond picked up her team-best 20th win. The freshman recorded a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Bobrowski on the fourth court. Milinkovic and Lawson each registered their 19th win of the season with their respective wins.
Milinkovic improves to 11-2 in the top position, while Lawson is 2-2 when playing in the third spot.
McKnight and Gustafson rounded out DePaul's singles wins. McKnight topped Caroline Hedrick 6-4, 6-2 and Gustafson won her match against Farmer 7-6 (4), 6-4.
The Blue Demons complete their doubleheader this evening with Dayton.
