Lightning Delays DePaul Match at USF

TAMPA, Fla. - DePaul's BIG EAST Conference women's soccer match was delayed again by a lightning strike at 2:30 p.m.
USF was leading 2-0 when the first lightning strike at 12:45 p.m. mandated a 30-minute stoppage of play. Subsequent lightning strikes have extended the delay to 3 p.m.
There are about six minutes left in the first half.
USF jumped out to an early lead when Chelsea Klotz scored her fourth goal of the season in the 15th minute. It came on Anne Vikre's third assist of 2011.
DePaul had shot on goal in the fifth minute, but Rachel Pitman's attempt was saved by Bulls goalkeeper Nicole McClure.
USF went on an eight-minute offensive spurt in the first half with four shots and two corner kicks.
The fourth shot eluded goalkeeper DePaul goalkeeper Megan Pyrz and Noelle Pineiro had her second goal of the season on an assist from Marsha Harper.
