No. 64 DePaul Falls at No. 20 Notre Dame

NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The No. 64 DePaul tennis team fell on road to No. 20 Notre Dame, 7-0 on Saturday at the Courtney Tennis Courts.
"Not a real good effort today except for a couple spots," DePaul head coach Mark Ardizzone said following his team's dual with the Irish.
"When you play a really good team, you have to play as hard as you can all the time. We did not put the effort in today needed to compete. Hopefully we will play harder tomorrow against Cincinnati."
Notre Dame (14-5, 3-0 BIG EAST), got off to a quick start and swept the doubles point. Heading into singles, the Irish clinched the victory with wins on the fourth, fifth and second court.
With the match already decided, Blue Demon senior Gia McKnight took her match on the third court to a super tie-break when she topped Jennifer Kellner 6-2 in the second set. Locked in a tight battle, Kellner just got past McKnight 10-7 in the deciding frame.
DePaul (10-6, 1-1 BIG EAST) host Cincinnati on Sunday at Lakeshore Sport and Fitness. The first serve of the BIG EAST Conference showdown is schedule 2 p.m. on the corner of Fullerton and Lakewood.
