Pitman, Wyatt Named to Academic All-District Team

CHICAGO - DePaul women's soccer captains Rachel Pitman and Elise Wyatt were named to the Capital One 2014-15 Academic All-District Women's Soccer Team on Thursday.
Both become eligible for the Capital One Academic All-America Team that will be announced on Nov. 25.
The All-District selections were based upon both academic and athletic accomplishments, and the nominees are voted upon by the members of CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America).
Wyatt is enjoying the best season of her career as the junior forward from Victoria, British Columbia is tied with Abby Reed for the team lead in goals (10) and tied with Alexa Ben for the team lead in points with 25. Wyatt leads the Blue Demons with 30 shots on goal.
Wyatt needs two more goals to tie the program's single-season record set by Julianne Sitch in 2003.
For her career, Wyatt is second all-time in goals with 22 and second all-time in points with 54.
Pitman was an All-BIG EAST Third Team defender in 2013 and is an integral part of a talented and versatile back line.
The senior from Bristol, England specializes in attacking from the wing and setting up teammates with accurate crosses.
On the season, Pitman has three goals and five assists. She is fifth on the team in points with 11 and has fired 12 shots on goal.
Pitman and Wyatt will lead No. 13/8 DePaul (14-0-3, 6-0-2 in the BIG EAST) into a 3 p.m. BIG EAST showdown Friday against St. John's (10-6-1, 6-1-1) at Wish Field looking to claim the Blue Demons' first BIG EAST regular-season title. DePaul is atop the conference with 20 points and St. John's is second with 19.
