Track & Field Opens Season Friday in South Bend

CHICAGO -- The DePaul men's and women's track and field teams open their 2014-15 indoor season at the Blue and Gold Invitational on Friday afternoon.
The meet, hosted by the University of Notre Dame, will take place in South Bend, Ind. The first event is scheduled for 4 p.m. CT.
The Blue Demons are coming off one of their most successful indoor seasons in school history. The 2014 men's team picked up a third place finish at the BIG EAST Indoor Championships, while the women placed fifth.
Nineteen members of last year's men's squad return for the 2014-15 season, while the women bring back 24. In addition, head coach Dave Dopek added five newcomers on the women's side and eight on the men's team.
The Blue and Gold Invite begins with field events at 4 p.m. Track events will start at 5 p.m.
