FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- Freshman Trevor Kintyhtt was the lone Blue Demon in action on Saturday afternoon at the NCAA Regionals in Fayetteville, Ark.
He fell just short of qualifying for the NCAA Championships at the University of Oregon, registering a best throw of 52.71 meters in the discus to finish 28th.
"Trevor threw well today. It wasn't a personal record but he finished well," said head coach Dave Dopek. "Today was a great experience for Trevor. He has now seen what it takes to compete with the best."
DePaul sent six athletes to the Regionals in Arkansas this weekend. Senior Matt Babicz moved through to the National Championships (June 11-14) in the shot put.
"As a whole this was a good weekend for the Blue Demons," Dopek said.
