Hrynko Leads DePaul Past French All-Stars in Paris

PARIS, France - DePaul senior All-American Brittany Hrynko led the women's basketball team to an 88-59 win over the French All-Stars on Wednesday in Paris. The game was the first of four for the Blue Demons, who are in the midst of an 11-day trip abroad.
Hrynko led a quartet of players in double-figures with 20 points and was named the game's Most Valuable Player. Jessica January scored 14 points, Brandi Harvey-Carr added 11 and Megan Podkowa finished with 10 points.
Harvey-Carr patrolled the glass with authority and led all players with 10 rebounds to finished the game with a double-double. Mart'e Grays, who was playing in her first game in a Blue Demon uniform, grabbed six rebounds and Podkowa finished four.
The French All-Stars jumped out to an early 8-6 lead in the first quarter, but the Blue Demons closed out the final 3:44 of the stanza on a 13-1 run and never looked back.
DePaul led 45-27 at the half and took a 76-43 lead into the final quarter.
The Blue Demons, who shot 33 percent from the field for the game, would go onto win 88-59.
DePaul and French All-Stars return to the court on Thursday.
