Schmidt Selected to BIG EAST Conference Honor Roll

CHICAGO - DePaul women's soccer received some good news on Monday heading into tomorrow's BIG EAST Championship opener against Providence.
Jessie Schmidt was selected to the BIG EAST Conference Honor Roll after her golden goal in the 96th minute last Friday lifted the Blue Demons to a 2-1 victory over Marquette.
That result locked up the No. 3 seed for DePaul (12-3-4, 6-1-2) and secured home-field advantage for the 1 p.m. match on Tuesday.
This was Schmidt's first BIG EAST Conference weekly accolade.
The sophomore midfielder from Maine South scored her first career goal on Sept. 26 in helping lead the Blue Demons to a 4-0 BIG EAST win at Xavier.
She will be back in the midfield on Tuesday against a Providence team that comes into Wish Field with a record of 12-7-0 and 5-4-0 in the BIG EAST.
Nearly two weeks ago, DePaul lost 2-0 at Providence and is ready for the rematch.
