Indoor Season Begins Friday for Track and Field

Blue & Gold Invitational - Meet Information | Meet Schedule
CHICAGO - The 2015-16 DePaul track and field indoor season is scheduled to start on Friday, Dec. 4 at the Blue & Gold Invitational, hosted by Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind. Friday's meet is the first of seven indoor meets for the Blue Demons before the BIG EAST Indoor Championships on Feb. 26 and 27.
The Blue Demons will face competition from Bethel, Detroit, Northern Illinois, Notre Dame and fellow BIG EAST member Marquette.
Two of DePaul's gold medalists from last year's BIG EAST Indoor Track and Field Championships are in action on Friday for the Blue Demons.
Junior Trevor Kintyhtt won last year's BIG EAST title in the weight throw with a career-best mark of 18.91 meters. Kintyhtt made it to the top-three five times last indoor season.
Sophomore Sebastian Feyersinger returns to the indoor track after earning gold in the 200-meter dash at the BIG EAST Championships. Feyersinger produced a career-best time of 21.60 in the event.
In last year's Blue & Gold Invitational, Gabrielle Howard reached a then career-best mark in the triple jump at 11.54 meters to take second place. Howard is scheduled to compete in Friday's invitational.
Sarah Moss is one of four senior women set to compete in South Bend for DePaul. Moss recorded a pair of sixth-place finishes at last year's BIG EAST Championships in the shot put and weight throw events.
Friday's meet features 18 freshmen making their indoor collegiate debut for the Blue Demons.
The one-day, non-scoring invitational begins with the men's long jump at 3:30 p.m. CT with the women to follow. Running events begin with the women's trial 60-meter hurdles at 5 p.m. CT. The invitational closes with the men's 4x400 relay, starting approximately at 8 p.m. CT.
