Babicz to Throw Wednesday at National Championships

EUGENE, Ore. -- DePaul senior thrower Matt Babicz will cap his illustrious career as a Blue Demon on Wednesday night at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
Babicz will compete in the shot put event at 7:30 p.m. CT at Hayward Field on the campus of the University of Oregon.
The Mt. Prospect, Ill., native registered a personal best throw of 19.52 meters two weeks ago at the NCAA Prelims in Austin, Texas, good enough for fourth overall in the West Region. That same mark ranks eighth in the nation this year.Â
Babicz won both the outdoor and indoor BIG EAST individual championships this season.
The NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships will be broadcast on ESPN3 beginning at 1 p.m. CT and 6 p.m. CT on ESPNU and on the WatchESPN app.
Babicz finished 20th at last year's Outdoor National Championships.Â
