CHICAGO - Four Blue Demon women's soccer players have been honored by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) with postseason accolades.
Junior midfielder Alexa Ben was named to the NSCAA All-Northeast Region Team First Team while senior defender Taylor Schissler and senior forward Abby Reed were chosen for the second team. Sophomore forward Franny Cerny was selected to the third team.
All four helped lead DePaul to a 10-6-3 overall record and a share of the BIG EAST Conference regular-season title. The Blue Demons were 7-2-0 in conference and received an automatic berth in the BIG EAST Championship semifinals.
Ben was an All-BIG EAST First Team choice after finishing with seven goals and three assists for 17 points.
Schissler and Reed joined Ben on the All-BIG EAST First Team. Schissler put up impressive numbers from the backline with six goals and seven assists for 19 points. Her seven assists led the team.
Reed led the Blue Demons in scoring with 11 goals and in points with 28. Her goals total fell one shy of tying the season mark she notched in 2014 and shares with Elise Wyatt (2015) and Julianne Sitch (2003).
Cerny was an All-BIG EAST Second Team selection after scoring nine goals and adding six assists for 24 points. She was also the conference's leader in game-winning goals (five) during the regular season.
