Blue Demons Complete Day Two at Drake Relays

DES MOINES, Iowa - The DePaul track and field team finished its second day at the Drake Relays with three relay teams in action and a top-10 result from Tayler Whittler.
Whittler just missed qualifying for the 100m dash final after finishing 10th in the overall standings with a time of 11.76. The senior missed the cut-off by just two places and .05 seconds. That time is the second-best mark by Whittler this season.
The men's 4x400 relay team of Chaz Bottoms, Jarvis Hill, Jeffrey Sattler and Sebastian Feyersinger recorded its best time of the season by finishing the event at 3:12.76. The Blue Demon team closed the event in 15th out of 25 total teams.
In the women's 4x100 relays, the DePaul team of Shayna Nwokenkwo, Taylor Farley, Jessica Watkins and Whittler crossed the finish line at 46.14. That time was a new season best for the relay squad and placed the Blue Demons 11th overall out of 21 teams.
Sarah Moss threw to a distance of 44.74 meters in the women's discus throw in her second of three attempts. The senior placed 20th out of 27 throwers.
The women's 4x400 relay team of Laura Edwards, Simone Carr, Julie Dambra and Alexia Harvey posted a new season-best time in the event at 3:52.36, almost three seconds better than the previous time.
DePaul splits time on Saturday between the final day of the Drake Relays and the Crusader Open. Full results and recap will be posted Saturday after the meets.
