Maize Named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

NEW YORK - DePaul softball's Morgan Maize was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, announced conference officials Monday.
This is the fourth time this season Maize has earned weekly recognition from the BIG EAST. The senior was named to the Honor Roll on Feb. 15 and BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week Mar. 28 and Apr. 18.
Maize started in all three of DePaul's (23-24, 13-3 BIG EAST) games last week, including one game in the circle. She batted .600 with a homer, four RBI and four runs.
Maize's best overall performance came in the first game against Seton Hall. In the circle, she collected her 17th win of the season after she struck out seven in DePaul's 8-3 victory. At the plate, she went 4-for-4, doubled, notched her ninth homer of the season and recorded three RBI.
This week, the Blue Demons welcome Northwestern for a midweek contest Wednesday, May 4 at 4 p.m. for their last home game of the season.
Following, DePaul heads to Creighton for a three-game series May 7-8 to close out the regular reason. Saturday's doubleheader begins at noon CT. Sunday's game will be broadcast on the BIG EAST Digital Network at 11 a.m.
