Softball Welcomes Northwestern Wednesday

CHICAGO - The DePaul softball team welcomes Northwestern to Cacciatore Stadium on Wednesday, May 4 for a 4 p.m. CT first pitch.
DePaul (23-24, 13-3) looks to extend its win streak to three after finishing last week 2-1 overall.
The Blue Demons fell to No. 19/21 Notre Dame in a midweek contest before notching a 2-0 series win at Seton Hall over the weekend.
DePaul's series win against the Pirates marked its fifth BIG EAST series victory of the season.
Morgan Maize was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor as a result of her performance in the circle and at the plate last week. The senior shined in the first game at Seton Hall. She collected her 17th win in the circle and went 4-for-4 at the plate with three RBI and a homer.
Maize and Naomi Tellez are tied with a team-high nine home runs this season. The two are four home runs away from tying for fifth in the program with 13 home runs clocked in a single season.
Northwestern Scout (22-24, 12-8 Big Ten): The Wildcats enter the contest after claiming a 2-1 series win at Wisconsin last weekend.
Amy Letourneau leads Northwestern at the plate with a .352 batting average. She has accounted for 27 runs, four doubles and 50 RBI. In the final game at Wisconsin, Letourneau blasted her 14th homer of the season to match Andrea Filler for a current team-high.
Wednesday marks the 59th game between the two programs. Northwestern holds a 39-19 series advantage over the Blue Demons.
Last year, DePaul lost to the Wildcats 12-1 in five innings.
