Softball Heads to Creighton for Regular Season Finale

CHICAGO - DePaul softball heads to Omaha, Nebraska for a three-game series against Creighton May 7-8 at Creighton Sports Complex. The series begins with a doubleheader at noon Central time on Saturday. On Sunday, the BIG EAST Digital Network will broadcast the game at 11 a.m.
DePaul (24-24, 13-3 BIG EAST) ranks first in the BIG EAST standings and looks to clinch the regular season title for the first time since 2014.
This past week, DePaul bested Northwestern 4-3 in a midweek game at Cacciatore Stadium.
With the win, the Blue Demons finished their home campaign 11-3 overall and extended their win streak to three games.
Naomi Tellez's sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh clinched the win over the Wildcats. She leads the team with 46 RBI and is third with a .370 batting average.
Last weekend, DePaul was at Seton Hall and collected a 2-0 series win over the Pirates. The Blue Demons series victory marked their fifth over a BIG EAST team this season.
Creighton (25-19, 7-8 BIG EAST Scout): The Bluejays enter the series having lost seven of their past eight games.
Michael Whitney leads the team in the circle. She has won eight of her last 11 and ranks third in the BIG EAST in ERA. She leads the conference with 72 strikeouts.
At the plate, Tash Coffiel leads Creighton with a .366 batting average. Jen Daro is tied for first in the BIG EAST with Maize and Tellez with nine home runs.
Last season, Creighton won the series 2-1. Overall, the Blue Demons hold a 9-7 series advantage.
