Leyva Named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

NEW YORK - DePaul softball's Megan Leyva was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, announced conference officials Monday.
This is the second time the sophomore has earned a spot on the Honor Roll this season.
DePaul (27-24, 16-3 BIG EAST) finished last week 4-0 overall with a midweek win against Northwestern and a series sweep at Creighton.
Leyva notched a 3-0 record in the circle against the Wildcats and the final two games against Creighton. She struck out five, allowed just three runs in 14 innings pitched to post a 1.50 ERA.
Leyva's best overall performance came in the final game against Creighton. In DePaul's 2-0 victory, Leyva allowed five hits and struck out three in seven innings for a 1.50 ERA.
This week, the Blue Demons head to the Ballpark at Rosemont for the BIG EAST Softball Championship May 13-14. No. 1 seed DePaul takes on No. 4 seed Butler at Noon (CT) Friday, May 13.
All games for the tournament will be broadcast on FS2.
