DePaul Collides With Creighton Thursday in BIG EAST Showdown

CHICAGO - DePaul will be shooting for four in a row Thursday when the Blue Demons confront BIG EAST adversary Creighton at Wish Field.
The Bluejays have a streak of their own, having gone unbeaten in their last five matches. This showdown is being broadcast on the BIG EAST Digital Network which can be accessed at foxsports.go.com.
Both these offensive-minded sides could light up the scoreboard as DePaul (4-4-2, 1-0-0) has scored 12 times in the last three games while Creighton (6-1-2, 1-0-0) has found the back of the net nine times in the same span.
The Blue Demon attack features BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week Franny Cerny, Abby Reed and Ana Greik with five goals each. Both Cerny (last Sunday) and Greik (Sept. 4) have recorded hat tricks this season.
The Blue Jays firepower is ignited by Lauren Sullivan who has seven goals and three assists in 2016. Taryn Jakubowski has set up her teammates with five assists.
On Sunday, DePaul is on the road for a conference match against Seton Hall (4-4-1, 0-1-0). The Pirates have been outscored 9-8 on the season and opponents hold a 60-35 advantage in shots on goal.
In contrast, the Blue Demons have outscored opponents 24-16 and hold an 82-38 advantage in shots on goal.

- After the recent scoring surge, DePaul entered the week No. 26 in the country in goals and No. 27 in scoring offense.
- In the BIG EAST, the Blue Demons are No. 1 in points and second in goals and assists with Cerny, Reed and Greik tied for fifth in goals. Cerny is tied for first in game-winning goals with three.
- Alexa Ben has 20 career assists, leaving the junior midfielder six shy of all-time leader Julianne Sitch (2002-05).
- Reed is third all-time in career points with 54 and Ben is right behind her at 50.
- DePaul leads the all-time series against Creighton at 3-0-0 with a 4-0 win last year on the road.
- The Blue Demons are 7-2-2 in its series against Xavier including last year's 1-0 home victory.
